HOW TO GET WEDDING READY
July 31, 2015

Happy Friday everyone, we made it! Matt and I leave for Savannah this afternoon (yay!) and I thought I would switch it up a bit for today’s post and chat about some of the things I have been doing to get wedding ready. It is hard to believe that after almost a year and a half of being engaged and planning, our wedding is less the three months away. My head is still spinning with a never ending to-do list and constantly trying to find time to cross things off my list. I promised myself that for the six month countdown I would really try and take some time out of my day and focus on me. I wanted to share a little insight about what has been working and some tips I have picked up along the way for all you bride-to-be’s, or whoever is interested!

I am hands down, absolutely obsessed with barre classes and can’t seem to get enough! I started taking barre about five months ago and have never felt so toned and strong. I specifically have been taking Pure Barre classes, but also want to try Flybarre as well. Barre is all about small movements and I find myself leaving each class feeling stronger and more balanced, emotionally and physically. My Pure Barre studio offers a Bride-to-be unlimited monthly special that (at my location) you are able to purchase twice, so if interested make sure you look into that option at yours.

Additionally, I plan to start adding a bit more cardio into my routine with running along the east river and spin classes. Open for any suggestions you all may have!

Skin Care:

I realize that as I am getting older (and all the damage I did from the sun when I was younger) it is worth every penny to invest in taking care of your skin. Starting at the six month countdown I begin to take extra care of my skin. Once a month I have been getting a facial at a local place in town called Graceful Spa. It is a tiny place on the second floor of a walk-up and by no means fancy, but honestly one of the best facial places I have found. For $80 you get a facial and neck massage and leave with a glow.

Diet:

I am not one to diet, I never have been and never will be. At times I wish i had a bit more self control, but my sweet-tooth wins every time. With this being said, I found what works for me and that is leading a clean, mostly organic lifestyle when it comes to food choices. Do I splurge on certain things, 100%, but I typically try and eat foods in their raw, basic form and make sure I can read all ingredients and understand what each one is.

With the wedding countdown in full-force I have been increasing the amount of water I drink, typically starting my morning with hot water and lemon…then followed by coffee (MUCH needed), with unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I have been relying heavily on Pinterest when it comes to new and exciting ides that also don’t require a ton of time. I don’t eat a lot of meat and haven’t ate red meat since sixth grade (I got really sick off of steak and never looked back). My meals primarily consist of chicken, seafood and vegetables, trying to get creative in every which way.

Last but not least, stay organized:

I can’t say it enough that organization is key when planning a wedding. When I first started this process I had pages from magazines all over our apartment, notes in a million notebooks, and odds and ends everywhere. Then, the Future Mrs Planner came into my life and all stars aligned and I found peace in my mind that I could neatly organize everything in one place and have a space to cross things off my list. I love how bright and feminine this planner is and every time I go to use it I get even more excited about my special day!

For all you married gals out there, I would love any tips or feedback on what else to do in these final months and especially the week of! I can’t wait to continue to share everything with you all and bring you along for the best day of my life…stay tuned!
