When it comes down to beauty products some say it’s a science and others think it’s pure luck. Each one of us is different, but I decided to set out on a journey through my makeup/beauty drawer and pull my top five favorite products. These are items that I absolutely love and work for anyone. If you take just one thing from this post, promise me you will try the eyelash changing mascara listed below. I am pretty sure I have dreams about this product (and an occasional nightmare that one day it will totally run out!).
1. Sephora Bronzer Brush – Super affordable and the bristles are extremely soft on your skin. It does a great job at evenly coating your bronzer. For years I stuck with a very simple bronzer brush that I picked at a pharmacy, but I can tell such a difference with investing in a brush that is just a slightly higher price point.
2. Aveeno Daily Moisturizer – I have tried many face moisturizers over the years. Some that make my face oily, others that I feel like I need to reapply every thirty minutes, and even one that cost as much as Veuve Clicquot. I saw no impressive results with the expensive one and love the fact that Aveeno has SPF 15 and mostly all natural ingredients and lasts throughout the day. Fun fact: I picked up a pack of two 4fl ounce bottles at Costco for $20!
3. M.A.C Mineralize Skinfinish – Soft and Gentle is the color that I use and with a brush you create a reverse “C” shape under your eye and up to your eyebrow. This powder helps to highlight your eyes and reduce that unwanted tired look.
4. NARS Lipstick – “Schiap” is the bold color I featured above. It was just over a year ago I ventured into the lipstick world (thinking I would be gloss-only my whole life) and I love the way it makes your lips pop, especially for pictures. Another favorite of mine is a shade of red called “Heatwave“.
5. Lancome Clis Booster XL – Ah, the best for last…this stuff is like gold! You coat your lashes with this before any other mascara and you literally see your lashes double. Yes, there are a ton of similar products out there, I have tried them all! This, hands down is magical. At times it adds so much length and volume I have to wear my sunglasses lower on my nose so my lashes don’t hit the frame…in my book, that’s not a bad problem to have 🙂
