I have been wanting to write this post for awhile because (no joke) every time I go home to PA I head to Walmart to pick up a few of my tried and true beauty products. Walmart has one of the biggest affordable beauty selections out there – you can pretty much find anything you need , which is why it is my retailer of choice when picking up many of my beauty items.
And for those who prefer online shopping, I also keep a running wish list on their site so I can quickly restock when I need a refresh.
For today’s post, I am going to focus on my top 5 items that I ALWAYS have on hand and why I love each one. A lot you have probably already heard me talk about or share some of theses on IG Stories because they are the best! Also, I am always looking for new recommendations and would love to hear any affordable beauty ones you all love! I am guilty of going into Walmart or shopping online for a couple things and ending up with a cart full of a lot more ha!
Essie Gel Nail Polish “Fairy Tailor” – Hands down my absolute favorite nail polish and the only one I ever wear on my nails. It is just a perfect neutral and I make sure to bring it with me each time I head in for a manicure (which is WAY less often these days with a little babe ha).
It’s a 10 (miracle leave in conditioner) – I chatted about this go-to product in my hair breakage post, but it has helped save my hair and bring it back to life. It repairs dry, damaged hair and adds a bit of shine while controlling frizz. I spray it in my hair while still damp after I shower and brush through (with this brush).
L’Oreal Primer Mascara – A GAME CHANGER!! Using a primer before applying your mascara is a must in my opinion. This step has helped me go from applying 3 (yes, 3!) mascaras to achieve the look I want, to only using this primer and then a mascara. It helps lengthen and fill out your lashes. Make sure you apply and then wait 30 seconds to a minute before applying your mascara (you want it to dry and set a bit).
Neutrogena Cleansing Face Wipes – This is my second step in my makeup removal process each night. First I focus on my eyes and apply this remover to cotton pads and remove as much eye makeup as I can. I then follow up with using these wipes and getting as much off my face as possible before I finish with a face wash. These wipes are always in my bag when I travel and I also love having them on hand after a flight when your face is feeling sticky and gross. These three steps help make sure everything is totally off my face before heading to bed!
Ouchless Clear Hair Ties – While I try and be mindful of what hair ties I use (to reduce breakage), I have to say, these are the BEST for getting the perfect half up top knot (tutorial on my blog and saved on my HAIR highlights). I love that this pack has a variety of sizes and to be honest you pretty much get one or two uses out of each hair tie because they stretch, which is why they come with a bunch!
