I thought this post would be perfect timing as we roll into a long Memorial Day weekend! When the weather warms up, we instantly switch gears to summer clothes, bathing suits and anything beach appropriate, at least I know I do here in New York City. Often though, I find myself forgetting to make sure I take the necessary beauty steps for protecting my skin and hair from the heat.
In my quest to protect my skin and hair this summer, I’ve teamed up with P&G beauty to try out some of their products. When it comes to protection, my skin is typically the first thing I think of. While I try and use a SPF face lotion year round, I especially am cautious of this during the summer months and make sure that my moisturizer is an SPF of 30. I recently tried Olay MicroSculpting Cream SPF 30 and it’s great! The cream isn’t too thick and goes on smooth under your make-up, boosting hydration and protecting your face all day – protecting against harmful UVA/UVE rays while offering the same anti-aging benefits. The bottle is small enough to toss in your beach bag and reapply as needed. I always make sure to pack a hat for extra protection of my face as well!
The second must-have summer beauty product is Pantene Pro-V 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioners. The sun and everyday heating tools can give your hair a beating. This conditioners keep your hair full of life and volume and the 3 minute time-frame is my favorite because I don’t even have to get out of the shower.
Finally, it is no surprise that you really need to be on your deodorant game during the warmer months. I have been an avid user of Secret Outlast for years and it was my go-to on my wedding day (hello invisible solid). The new Xtend Technology has an active enhancer that adheres directly to the skin to help stop odor before it starts which is extra important in the heat and avoiding stinky pits!
Overall, these three products are my favorite for affordable beauty finds to beat the heat. When on vacation or just laying out at home, make sure you remember to take care of your skin and body! I wish I took my own advice earlier on in life (aka my high school self), but it is never too late to start taking care of your body, so you can always start now!
