MY EVERYDAY MAKEUP ROUTINE
September 1, 2017

natural makeup

It may be no surprise that when it comes to makeup I don’t just stick to one brand. I love trying out different products, switching things up throughout the year and creating different looks depending on the occasion. Nordstrom has always been my go-to for ordering makeup because they make it so simple and easy by carrying so many amazing beauty products and brands under their beauty section. Truly is a one stop and shop site. Also, their return policy is wonderful so if you aren’t happy with a new product you picked up to try it typically isn’t a problem.

With all this being said, I have had a few requests for my everyday makeup routine so figured the easiest way to share would be through a blog post! So, first things first, I always make sure to prep my skin before applying makeup, it helps everything go on smooth and keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day. While I am not going to touch on my skincare routine in this post, I will do so in the future…promise! If I missed anything below or you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments section or shoot me an e-mail and I am happy to help. Also, if looking for a great gift idea (and/or wanting to get ahead for the holidays), Nordstrom has the best beauty gift sets! It is a great way to get a little bit of everything all together, such as this nude lip trio. As easy way to make sure you create a perfect lip! Happy Friday, everyone!

Listed in the order that I apply:

Laura Mercier Primer – I can thank you all for suggesting this primer! I am officially hooked and you honestly only need a tiny drop to cover and prime your face. This is the first thing I use after my morning skincare routine before any other makeup is applied.

Bobbi Brown Concealer (my color: “Natural Tan”) – I place two sideways triangles under my eyes and spot treat any other blemishes I see. I use my damp beautyblender to blend everything into my skin.

Bobbi Brown Foundation (my color: “Natural tan 4.25”) – I start by placing about 4 pumps of this foundation onto the back of my hand and with the same damp beautyblender I begin to apply to my face and just under my chin and onto the start of my neck. If curious, this is what I use to clean my beautyblender.

Bobbi Brown Corrector (my color: “Light Bisque”) – With my concealer blending brush I apply a few strokes right under my eye and blend in. This is a game changer for really opening up and brightening your eyes as well as covering up any dark circles!

Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder (my color: “Medium”) – With a full bronzer brush (always tap brush before placing on face to remove excess powder) apply in all places the sun would naturally hit your face (i.e. right under cheek bones, sides of your temple, bridge of your nose, jaw line, etc.)

Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powder (my color: “Antigua” – I actually use this as blush! Not quite sure why it is called a bronzer, but works amazing for your cheeks.

NARS Illuminator (my color: “413 BLKR”) – With my finger I place the smallest amount on the top of my cheekbones and around the outer eye like a backwards “C” to add some highlight and definition.

Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder – Use another large/full brush and dab into the powder and then tap to remove any extra. Apply all over your face to set your makeup for the day.

Anastasia Brow Duo Powder (my color: “Soft Brown”) – With this brown brush I first brush out my brows in an upward motion. I then start with the lighter of the two browns and apply to my fuller brow closer to the inner crease of my eye. I then take the darker brown and fill in the thinner part of my brow. As always, don’t forget to tap the brush and remove extra powder before applying.

Anastasia Brow Gel – No one wants crazy brows that can be all over the place so this stuff is great and basically works as hairspray for your brows, but also isn’t sticky at all!

Mascara: Make sure to curl your lasses before anything! Then apply first (lengthening mascara), second (fine) and third (thick) –  I am a bit OBSESSED with mascara and use three different ones in the order listed here. Any white mascara is a miracle worker and always goes on first, it is a amazing the results this alone provides. I follow up with a finer tip mascara once the white mascara dries and then finish with a thick brush mascara to add volume and fullness.

Chantecaille Lipstick (my color: “Amour”) – I discovered this lipstick from my makeup artist who did my makeup for my wedding. I wanted a touch of color that also remained a but neutral and have been obsessed ever since! While I don’t wear this every day, I thought I would share because it totally could be worn with a natural look.
