Travel Guide: Naples, Florida

travel guide naples florida

Blue skies and sunshine are the two things I will always remember Naples by! Just last week I was fortunate enough to escape the cold and head south to the paradise coast for some much needed vitamin D with one of my best blogger gals, Marissa. It was my first time to Naples, Florida and I couldn’t have been more excited to check out the town, beaches and delicious restaurants. From NYC it was a quick flight, under three hours and the perfect place for a getaway, especially this time of year! I am recapping where we stayed, what we did and where we ate, but as always, if you have any additional questions I would love to hear them.

Where We Stayed: Edgewater Beach Hotel

From the palm tree lined road you drive down to get to this hotel, to the most beautiful beach front homes we passed along the way, I knew I was going to absolutely fall in love with Naples and all it had to offer. A fun little fact, Naples was just named for the second year in a row the happiest, healthiest city in the US, so that is reason enough to check it out! I’m pretty confident in saying that not one of the rooms at the Edgewater Beach Hotel has a bad view. My favorite part of the hotel is that they had a little bit of everything: two pools, a beautiful beach, a fire pit to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset, yummy dining and so much more.

What To Do:

Naples Pier – You wont want to miss a sunset at Naples Pier, it is absolutely beautiful! You do however want to make sure you get there enough time before the sunset if you want to ensure yourself a prime position on the edge of the pier to watch and snap a few pictures. We came a little too late and while we still had a great view, it was hard to get through the crowd of people to the front.

Naples Botanical Garden – Being down south this botanical garden was filled with tropical plants and flowers, which I very much enjoyed. It was manageable to walk through and had some beautiful features such at the orchid garden.

Third Street South – Such a fun street to walk around, shop and grab a bite to eat. The buildings are bright and colorful and I have never seen so many flowers covering the storefronts and lining the streets. You could easily spend a few hours here. I would suggest popping into Marissa Collections for some upscale shopping and grabbing a drink at The Continental.

5th Avenue South – My favorite part about this street is all of the lights that lined the trees creating a magical feel. We grabbed dinner in this area two nights (more details below) and strolled the streets popping in and out a few of their shops. Both Third Street South and 5th Avenue South are a quick drive from the hotel.

Where To Eat:

HobNob – This may have been my favorite meal of our trip! Located right on 5th Avenue, HobNob has a fun and rustic/modern decor with the most incredible menu items to select from. When we asked our waiter for recommendations, he answered  “I know this sounds crazy, but you can’t go wrong with anything on our menu.” Sure enough, every single thing we ordered was amazing.

Coast – Our last meal of the trip we ate on property at the hotel at Coast. We sat outside on the balcony and caught the tail end of the sunset. Marissa and I both enjoyed two different seafood dishes and started with the burrata, which is always my favorite.

The French – A more recent addition to the Naples cuisine scene, The French was a popular choice! While there is typically a wait to get it, it is easy to put your name in and grab a drink and snack at one of the restaurants near by. Each dish is packed with flavor and you can tell so much TLC went into creating each one.

Jane’s Garden Cafe – While walking around Third Street, we decided to give Jane’s Garden Cafe a try for brunch. They had outdoor dining and also came highly recommended! It was the perfect place to grab some coffee and avocado toast and to fuel up for the day.

The Bowl – On our last day before heading to the airport, Marissa and I were craving an acai bowl. We received a recommendation form several people on instagram (thanks!) to give The Bowl a try and it lived up to al expectations. Wishing I had another one in front of me right now!
