A Weekend Escape Outdoors
June 19, 2019

This past weekend, Matt and I escaped the concrete jungle to head north to Newport, Rhode Island (travel guide to come), where we could spend a great deal of time outdoors with our little family. When summer hits, a major priority for us is trying to go somewhere we can soak in the sunshine and fresh air, explore and dine al fresco as much as possible. Also, being a new mom, spending any amount of time outside has just been good for my soul! Plus, Logan just seems to thrive when outside and not just stuck in the apartment.

Before our trip, I picked up a few new pieces from Backcountry that would work perfect for being outdoors, yet fashionable at the same time. They carry a wide variety of brands, including one of my favorites, Free People. I snagged a new comfy white tee and distressed denim jeans, as I knew I could mix and match both pieces throughout the weekend with other items I packed. And during the summer, I always try to have a hat on hand to shade my face and protect my skin. This fedora caught my eye as it is so versatile and will go with tons of outfits. I went with the camel color, but it is also available in two others as well.

If you need a fashion travel tip, I love packing this macrame tote because it takes up virtually no room in your suitcase and can be worn during the day, to the pool/beach or out at night and fits a ton of things. It also even gives you room if you purchase something while out and about! It comes in a really pretty khaki and mustard color as well.

Backcountry is kind enough to offer you all a code for 15% off your first purchase: STYLED15 (exclusions apply)! They have a great selection for men as well if you are shopping for any man in your life as well as kids! I am dying to check out this selection for Logan and pick out a few things for this summer and all our adventures.
