Now that I am 30 weeks deep into this pregnancy and the bump is in full force, I have been loving fitted dresses paired with jackets (when I am not in my lounge wear of course). I am all about showing off and accentuating the bump, instead of hiding it underneath baggy clothing (which don’t get me wrong, I still do from time to time). I have found so many dresses that I previously owned that work well with a bump (the more stretch the better) and from time to time I will size up in a fitted dress to make it work as well. To be honest, though, I haven’t loved typical maternity clothing, so have found ways to work with what I have or with sizing up in affordable non-maternity pieces.
Both dresses here are recent and affordable buys. The first (paired with the leather jacket) I went up to a size medium and took the strap in about 1.5-2 inches. They were too long (and revealing the girls a bit too much), but this was such an easy fix for a cute $69 dress!
For the second (beige) dress, I went with my normal size (US4), but maybe should have gone up one with the bump and with this color in particular I needed to pair my go-to slip underneath so it wasn’t see through. I wear this slip all the time and it has been the best $18 I have ever spent!
Outfit One:
Leather Jacket, old (LOVE this one I shared on my IG Stories, so affordable and highly impressed with the quality – more expensive option here) // Dress ($69! – sized up to a medium, took in the straps 1.5-2 inches) // Pumps, old (similar) // Earrings // Sunglasses // Bag
Outfit Two:
Utility Jacket (wearing XS) // Dress ($40! – went regular size for this brand – US4, but maybe should have gone up one for the bump) // Slip Dress (actual beige dress itself is a bit see through so wore this underneath) // Initial Necklace // Horn Necklace // Pendant + Adjustable Chain // Sunglasses // Heels
