Weekend Wrap Up

Ann Taylor Sale

This past weekend, Matt and I finally decided to hang around the city since the forecast wasn’t looking too promising. As much as I love to escape this place during the warm months, it was nice finally getting to spend some time home, catch up on things around the house and errands, and trying a few new restaurants that have been on our list.

When Friday rolled around, it cooled off quite a bit and Matt and I had been talking about wanting to grab some oysters. We had heard of a place called Upstate which is located on 6th street and 1st avenue and headed downtown to try and snag a seat. We put our names in and walked around for a bit, but this place is worth the wait! A little tip, if you are open to sitting at the bar you can usually get seated faster. Matt and I have learned we actually love sitting at the bar. We often chat way more, learn the ins and out of the restaurants and always have an awesome experience. Upstate is cozy, charming and honestly some of the best and freshest seafood we have had in awhile. Their menu changes daily depending on what they get in from the fisherman, but you can never go wrong with their oysters!

On Saturday we opted to try a Greek spot all the way uptown on 93rd street and Lexington called Korali. Once again we opted to sit at the bar so we would get seated sooner and had another amazing meal. Two for two isn’t bad when you haven’t been in the city in awhile! This place was actually written up in the New York Times for being a hidden neighborhood gem. The atmosphere and food did not disappoint, make sure you order the octopus if that is your thing!

Afterwards, our bellies were full and we made our way back home just as the thunderstorm began. We wasted no time getting into pj’s and watched such a great movie, “Love, Simon.”Ā  I loved the message and thing this is a movie everyone should see. To be honest, this was a perfect weekend in my opinion!

Now onto this outfit, I found this cute shirtdress at Ann Taylor and thought it would be perfect for a semi-casual date night. I wanted to stay comfy on my feet incase we would be walking around a bit, so paired with my go-to leopard flats. If you weren’t aware, Ann Taylor has their Semi-Annual Sale going on in stores and online and it is a great time to pick up a few pieces for a steal!
