Breakfast In Bed
January 25, 2018

Valentine's Day Date Idea

With how cold the weather has been lately, Matt and I have found ourselves relaxing more on the weekends and taking the mornings slow instead of rushing out the door. I am always looking for ways to switch things up a bit and add something special to our weekend routine so I decided to make breakfast in bed. As you may have heard me share, Shameless (on Showtime) has been out new guilty pleasure to binge watch and I thought what better way to enjoy a few shows from bed than to add some yummy pancakes and a few extra touches with a new throw and pillow.

As some of you may know, I live uptown and having Bloomingdale’s nearby (59th street between 3rd and Lexington) has been dangerous…but a good dangerous! For the longest time I would see signs that their home section was opening up and going to be bigger and better than ever. I popped in the other day to finally check it out (Hadley in tow of course) and to pick up a few extra things to freshen up our bedroom. It spans the 6th and 7th floor and you can quite literally get lost in there for hours checking out everything from dishes, frames and candles to bedding, furniture and towels.

While they offer a great home section online, I am such a visual person and always prefer to see things in person when possible, which is why having this home department available at their uptown store location is amazing. Hadley was having a field day, especially when we passed through the UGG Home section and everything happened to be faux fur and super cozy. I knew I was in the market for a lightweight throw for our bed and stumbled upon this reversible one by Coyuchi.

As I continued to check out both floors, I couldn’t pass up this adorable happily ever after pillow (would make such a great engagement gift) and new tea cup and saucer set. Also, if you are a bride-to-be, Bloomingdale’s has the best selection for setting up your Registry! Now that I am married, I love when our friends are registered with Bloomingdale’s because it makes everything so simple and easy.

Would love to know if you are like me and enjoy changing up a few things here and there every few months to make your space feel new and fresh? If you are in NYC, make sure you swing by the 59th street Bloomingdale’s and check out the 6th and 7th floor and let me know what you think! There are also a ton of behind the scenes footage from my in-store visit over on my Instagram Stories today (@styledsnapshots).
