As I am typing this post out it feels a bit taboo as August has only begun. But the truth is, in fashion, you start shopping for the next season way in advance. Just the other day I popped into TJ Maxx and the shelves were fully stocked with all things pumpkin and fall. While I want to maximize what is left of summer, I often find shopping ahead helps with getting excited for the next season when it does arrive. Also, the amount of times I have kicked myself for not buying a pumpkin candle in August to only have TJ Maxx be completely sold out in September.

Now that that ramble and those random thoughts are over, I thought I would share 5 pieces you need for fall! Generally speaking, these are staples and building blocks to your wardrobe and things you wont want to miss out on.

1. Ankle Booties – While I love all types of boots, I find that I wear ankle booties the most, especially in a classic taupe color. They are easy to dress up or down, Sole Society has my favorite selection of affordable booties and this is my pick for a splurge option.

2. Cozy Cardigan – Abercrombie has the BEST sweaters and coziest cardigans each fall. They have done it again with an updated version of one of my favorites from last year. This little number is only $68 and is perfect to toss on and head out the door. Free People is another go-to as well, I have my eye on this light grey knit.

3. Oversized Scarf – Probably one of my favorite accessories for fall! There are so many cozy scarves I look forward to wearing, but this one looks like an absolute cozy dream.

4. Denim – It sounds simple, but a great pair of denim is a total game changer. This Instasculpt line is one of my favorites and I find them to be flattering on any shape! You can find more styles from this line here!

5. Utility Jacket – One of my favorite pieces for season transitions. Adding lots of layers and tossing this jacket over top is my go-to. I have the military surplus color and it goes with everything!
