A big thanks to Ann Taylor for partnering on this post!

The weekend came and went, as always much too fast. Matt and I took full advantage or being in the city, walking around neighborhoods we don’t get to as often, dining out at a few spots we’ve been wanting to try, and shopping for the chillier weather. On Friday night, we laid low due to the rain and made homemade pizzas, enjoyed a glass of wine while watching the new Amanda Knox documentary on Netflix (my vote – not guilty!). Everything was perfect.

With the sun hiding behind the grey skies all weekend, I took some extra time to organize around our apartment and pull all my fall pieces to the front of my closet.  I love being able to see what I have (which is challenging given my NYC closet situation) and incorporate new pieces with some old. One of my favorite new pieces is this turtleneck tunic. It is cozy, practical and the perfect neutral from Ann Taylor and comes in three colors. I love the oversized feel and how easily you can dress it up or down.

In addition to a few soft sweaters, I picked up a few nicer pairs of pants (a girl can’t just live in distressed denim ALL the time). Just the other month I discovered these kick crop flares and become hooked. The fit and cut of the pant is perfect for transitional weather. I have them in cream, which I plan to wear throughout the winter as it is a thicker material, and now this navy pin stripe pair as well.
