A few weeks back I was out shopping an stumbled upon this eyelet hem shirtdress. I love the different textures and how the eyelet detail dresses up your typical shirtdress in a fun and unique way. I knew it would be perfect for mother’s day brunch (where I was off to below – you know, just casually pulled over on the side of the road to take some pics), but I think this dress would also look adorable with a pair of sandals for a more relaxed look.
En route to brunch, I picked up these fresh flowers for my mom. The roses were totally wiped out and she just received tulips from my dad, so I went with hydrangeas (which conveniently matched my outfit). I absolutely love hydrangeas, but get so frustrated with how quickly they wilt. My mom placed them in water as soon as we gave them to her and the white ones were all drooped over within 1 hour. If you have any suggestions for keeping them alive longer, please share! I deal with the same issue in our apartment with almost all flowers because it is so warm.
Also, I wanted to share with you all a jewelry designer I encountered when in Bloomingdales the other week. Her company is called Lulu DK and she had a pop-up shop for a few days close to Mother’s Day. I started chatting with her and instantly fell in love with her necklaces and the meaning each one had. I ended up getting the smallest sized one for my mom for Mother’s Day with the encrypted words: I Love You. Each saying will show when you spin the gold coin (there is a video on her site). The designer was so sweet when I asked if I could switch boxes to the verse that meant the most to me, and she called her store and had one of the girls bring over an empty box. Because it was all around such a nice shopping experience and customer service, I wanted to share with you. The necklaces make great gifts for special occasions and she has dozens of different sayings and verses!
