The holidays can definitely be a little crazy, particularly in terms of my travel schedule. I have a love/hate relationship with packing and traveling in and out of the city, especially with owning and traveling with a dog. Honestly schlepping my bag, dog, dog food, gifts, etc. to Penn Station and getting on multiple trains to my destination is probably my least favorite part of NYC living. But, once on the train, it is actually a pretty enjoyable form of transportation, and one that you don’t have to worry about traffic.
When escaping the city, I try my best to fit as much as I can into one bag. It can be difficult to catch a cab in the city this time of year, so I always need to be prepared to walk a little (or a lot) of distance. The large tote (as shown below) is perfect for a weekend away. My favorite part about this bag is the three inner zip pouches that come in a variety of sizes and easily can be clipped on or off. Typically I toss everything into my bag and struggle when I need to find something that falls to the bottom. These pouches allow me to quickly grab my keys, phone, etc. without pulling everything apart.
