I mentioned throughout this week a few times that Matt and I traveled home last weekend.  While the main focus of the trip was family time, we also used being home to our advantage to do some shopping for our apartment re-do. Now that we have been married a few months, and are in a position to start saving again, we both decided that it was time to give our living room a total facelift. I guess that’s not totally accurate – it was more like, I   have been pleading for months that our couches are disgusting (on account of the pup + too many late night pizza sessions) and that we need a whole refresh, and he finally was sick of listening to it and gave in. Persistence is key, ladies! While taking on this big project, we wanted to do so in a financially appropriate way, so I have been scouring sales and furniture outlets.

We scored our couch during a West Elm sale over the holidays when they were doing a sale for 30% off sofas. Luckily in PA, not too far from where I grew up, there are two amazing outlets (422 outlet and Lancaster outlet). Our first trip over Thanksgiving we found these two Couturier’s chairs at Restoration Hardware. This past trip we went back to Restoration Hardware to snag a braided rug and then the next day we found some great stuff at the West Elm and Pottery Barn outlet.

I snapped these pics on the way home from the outlets. Admittedly, I have no idea where this is – somewhere between Lancaster and Philly. I saw this cute little pond and decided it would make a great spot. I’m really digging leather (if you haven’t noticed, and don’t worry there is more to come), and I’m obsessed with the cut and different textures of this jacket (although its kind of hard to see in the pics).
