We all are familiar with the saying that nobody is perfect no matter what it may seem on the outside. It is easy to pass judgements and create scenarios in our head about so and so living the most perfect life. I will be the first to admit that my life is far from perfect, but it is a life that I love and look forward to waking up to each day. This all leads me into today’s post, and when California Naturel asked me to review their skin care line I was more then excited to do so. All my life I have struggled with eczema. I am lucky that it isn’t constant, but when I have the flare ups it is truly unbearable. I have tried more steroid creams then a nail salon has nail polishes, and have even given up delicious smelling lotions and products. What truly has helped the most is switching to all natural/organic skin care products that are scent-free or are naturally scented. California Naturel uses only ingredients found in nature and are free of parabens, sulfates and harsh synthetic chemicals, so I was quick to sign up for the challenge!
The three products I tried are the gentle cleansing gel, balancing complex and nourishing cream. All three products have a similar scent that is not overbearing, fresh and natural smelling (as I would expect!). The nourishing cream might be my favorite of the three, you can feel it soaking into your skin, but I never had the feeling of it clogging my pores. Truth be told, after about two weeks of sampling these products my eczema did not flare up once (and I usually get it horrible on my hands) and my skin was not nearly as dry as it had been. I will be purchasing their sunscreen as soon as it is available. Sunscreen in particular is something my skin is extremely sensitive to and causes my eczema to flair instantly. The more natural sunscreens I have used in the past have been too thick to spread so I always just prepare myself for eczema flare ups. Hoping theirs will be the light at the end of the tunnel!
