New York City Style
Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Matt’s parents were in town this past weekend so we spent Saturday afternoon hanging out with them. Grabbing brunch at Norma’s has been on my NYC bucket list forever, so I was so excited to finally check out what all the hype was about. It was a pretty rainy morning, so a cozy indoor brunch sounded perfect. I was excited to finally wear my new block heels from Sole Society, the perfect combo of comfy meets chic. The pointed toe dresses up the look a bit, while the block heels makes the shoe wearable and comfortable. I also have been loving this suede bucket tote, it sits comfortably on my shoulder and can fit a lot of stuff inside. Matt left his laptop at work by accident so we had to swing by and grab it on the way to brunch and it easily fit in my bag, along with all my other stuff.
If you do make it to Norma’s, you have to do yourself a favor and order the crunchy french toast with caramel sauce…it is out of this world! We each picked a dish with the intention of sharing, and while everything was delicious the french toast was stand out. Matt and I always look forward to getting up and out and heading to brunch on the weekends. I am a huge breakfast person, so it is my favorite meal of the day. While I enjoy the classic dishes, it is always fun to go somewhere where they put a spin on each dish, and Normas definitely does that. After brunch we went to check out the Morgan Library and Museum (J.P. Morgan’s historic personal library on Madison Ave.– it was gorgeous, and worth a visit) and then grabbed a cocktail at the Campbell’s apartment – one of my favorite, classic NYC spots tucked away in Grand Central.
