Whether I am hanging around home or headed somewhere fun on the weekend during the summer, I typically gravitate towards dresses. They are lightweight, easy to toss on and can be dressed up or down with a switch of a shoe.
While we were away in Vermont last weekend I couldn’t wait to pack this embroidered dress from Vineyard Vines. I knew it would be perfect for grabbing lunch in town followed by our boat ride on the lake. I am queen of overpacking and have really tried to get better about it and be more strategic by bringing pieces that work for various things and can be worn a few ways. Although I stuck to a simple pair of sandals, you could easily toss on a neutral heel and dress things up a notch. It is such a fun piece to wear out and about and all summer long.
Another great option I found from Vineyard Vines is this linen swing dress. A little secret to make it transition from day to night is to use a tiny small belt (or a shoe string) around your waist to cinch it and then pull the fabric up and over (I have done this below). For meetings and during the day it is nice to have a longer dress and then this is an easy solution to shorten it a bit for nighttime. Go summer uniform has been consisting of a denim jacket and white dress, two easy pieces that go together and allow you to have fun with your accessories!
A big thanks to Vineyard Vines for partnering on this post!
