Trunk Club Review

Since for as long as I can remember I have always had a love for clothes, styling pieces to create outfits and shopping for that perfect find. As many of you know, I had no clue that this little hobby would one day turn into my full-time job. As much as I love searching for pieces to share with you all, sometimes life gets in the way and some months are more stressful than others with little to no time for finding those must have pieces.

A few years ago I heard about Trunk Club, but ended up brushing this service off since I had more time on my hands. Fast forward to life lately and a much busier schedule, I decided to revisit Trunk Club and see what they were all about. Trunk Club is service that provides different personal stylists to assist customers in selecting pieces that fit their lifestyle and budget, which pieces you can later decide to keep or return.  It is a Nordstrom company so you can only imagine all the amazing brands they carry, with endless options for each and every style. Quickly after signing up you are paired with your very own stylist who looks at your profile (you answer a few questions when signing up) and opens a dialogue with you via their messaging system. My stylist was Dean and right off of the bat he seemed to understand exactly what I was looking for. I told him that I was looking for a few casual spring pieces and had been on the hunt for light-wash distressed denim forever.

After a day or so, Dean was able to put together my “trunk”, which consisted of 10-12 items. I had the option to take a look, make a few suggestions if needed (I ended up asking him to swap a few pieces) and then my trunk was sent out for me to receive. Dean also sent me a visual of 9 different outfits he styled using the pieces in the trunk, which helped me visualize the numerous ways I could pair each item. I was sent options from a bunch of my favorite brands (Madewell, J.Crew, Rag & Bone), but he also tossed in a few pieces I would have never thought to try myself and ended up loving. He seriously nailed the end result with all the pieces that arrived at my door!

When trying Trunk Club, there is a $25 stylist fee, but if you end up keeping anything in the trunk that credit is applied or if you are a Nordstrom cardholder that fee is waived. You can keep everything or nothing, it is completely up to you! The best part was receiving this trunk and being able to try on a bunch of pieces from the comfort of my home. They also make the return process super easy and offer a few different (free) options for pick up.

Overall, I found using Trunk Club to be a huge time saver for myself. Instead of running around to a bunch of different stores, I had everything delivered to me. I also like how Dean helped me step a bit out of my comfort zone by tossing in a few pieces that I typically wouldn’t choose on my own. Such a fun experience overall and will definitely use again before some of my trips when I am usually scrambling to find outfits to pack.
