Oh my goodness, I am pretty excited to share this post with you all, especially since you all seemed to love this dress on Instagram! This past weekend Matt, Hadley and I headed back to Philadelphia for a wedding of my twin best friends little sister. I know known my BFFs since I was three and their little sister practically her entire life so it was so crazy to see her all grown up walking down the aisle.
If you guys are newer to following along, you may not know that I grew up right outside of Philly and use every and any excuse to get back down there. The church, venue and hotel we stayed at were all right by one of my favorite areas, Rittenhouse Square. It is picturesque and the street I would die to live on (Delancey street) it only a few blocks down so I of course knew it would be the perfect backdrop for these photos.
The wedding was black tie optional, so I knew this gorgeous sequin gown from BHLDN would be perfect! The dress speaks for itself, so I only paired a cluster earring to pull the look together. If you like to know details like I do, double stick tape worked amazing for keeping this dress in place (as well as the wrap tie around the waist). I didn’t have time to get it altered, but used a tiny safety pin (painted with black nail polish) to secure the deep V exactly where I wanted it. If you have more time, a tailor could easily add a tiny button to do the same.
We have a few holiday parties and two more winter black tie weddings, so I plan to get tons of use out of this dress! If you aren’t familiar BHLDN offers a wide variety of wedding guest and special occasion dresses in addition to their typical bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses. They are usually one of the first places I look when it comes to attending a wedding! If looking for something a bit more budget friendly, I love this beaded maxi, this sequin midi dress and this classic little black dress!
