One question that I sometime struggle with is how to style a printed pattern. While I am the first to admit I love a good print, especially during the summer months, it can be tricky to style these pieces so your outfit doesn’t look too “busy” and all over the place. I recently picked up these palm leaf drapey shorts from Ann Taylor and thought they would be perfect for the upcoming months. The length of them is appropriate to wear to a work function, but they also remain feminine and stylish.
Whenever wearing a print, I keep everything else extremely simple and neutral. I typically gravitate towards a white, nude or cream colored top so all of the attention goes right to the print. This rule also applies with accessories and shoes, neutral is key! If you are styling a printed top and curious what to wear on the bottom, the same rule applies, but you can add in white or blue denim shorts or pants (or anything in that family).
