THE PERFECT DAY DATE

longwood gardens couple photos

Between both Matt and my work schedules things can get a bit crazy and an entire weekend can fly by where Sunday rolls around and we realize we didn’t get a chance to spend any quality time together. We have made a pack to try and get better about planning out at least one date a week where we toss our phones and work aside and enjoy a new experience. We try and alternate each week who chooses the date, and this past week I was up on the rotation!

This past weekend we were home in PA and I always hear so much about Longwood Gardens and how beautiful it is. Even though it was a rainy day, they have a gorgeous indoor atrium area that has about 8-10 different rooms filled with lush plants and beautiful flowers. Matt and (mainly) I have been on a huge succulent kick lately, so I was super excited to check out the area dedicated to just this. I also thought it would be fun to capture a few photos together to fill up some of our new frames and reached out to our wedding photographer Rachel Pearlman who is absolutely amazing! It was so fun spending some time with her and having her shoot us again. It truly made the date that much more special.

The weather this past weekend was all over the place and since Matt has to get dressed up for work during the week he takes full advantage of staying more casual on the weekends. Patagonia makes the best sweaters for both male and females, but their half zip “better sweater” is one of Matt’s go-to’s for being comfortable, yet still looking put together. Nordstrom offers a huge Patagonia selection for men and I find their pieces work for every age and year round.

Just recently Matt discovered Bonobos and realized they are one of the first brands that fit him perfectly. Needless to say, he has stocked up for the summer season with these shorts in nearly every color. Unlike his wife, Matt isn’t a big shopper, but when he does he typically gravitates towards Nordstrom since it is a one stop shop for him, they offer a large men’s section and as always, shipping is free. He is all about the quick and easy way to shop when picking up a few new things.

As for myself, I stuck with a simple shift dress and sandals for an easy day date look for exploring around.
