His and Her Fashion

When it comes to shopping, Matt and I love venturing around the city, popping into new shops, and hitting up old favorites. With spring in the air, we both are in the process of updating our wardrobes, purging pieces that haven’t been worn in years, and looking for pieces that are comfortable yet practical (which can always be a challenge, more so for me than him).

One thing we both agree on is that when we head into Banana Republic we both usually come out with a few items that we love and that check all boxes, fashionable and practical. Banana Republic recently created a new collection that has been designed to be not only comfortable, but also versatile, which is the theme of their “What Moves You” campaign. We thought it would be fun to share a few of our favorite picks for spring, a go-to date spot in NYC and what gets us moving each day.

I am a true believe in a great pair of heels and denim that doesn’t slide down and quite literally moves as you move. These two items are must-haves when it comes to building a wardrobe. One of Matt and my favorite date spots in the city, just off Madison Square Park, is the roof of Eataly. If looking for a spot to enjoy a drink and a few yummy bites, you won’t be disappointed. With heading there early evening, I wanted to dress things up a bit and paired this off the shoulder top with my heels and denim. The straps are super comfortable, you almost forget they are there.

Matt opted for a classic, cozy, stripe sweater with a lightweight olive jacket. The best feature about this piece is the hidden hood in the collar. The weather in the city has been so unpredictable lately, having this option to add a hood is great for a sudden rain fall or to block the wind (which has been out of control!).

While Matt and I both agree that having clothes that move with you and work for you is important, we also agree that having something that moves and motivates you each day is just as important. We both tend to be morning people and enjoy getting up early to have a cup of coffee together and discuss what both of us need to accomplish that day. Setting aside a time, even if it is just for a few minutes, has helped us start the day with a clear mind and a set goal for that day. I would love to hear what moves you all each day, always looking for new tips and suggestions!
