Tis the season of lots of layers, textures and light weight jackets. Fall is hands down my favorite season and one that I look forward to year-round. In my opinion it allows for the best dressing, and to get creative pairing trends with pieces already in your closet. Growing up I would always jumped at the opportunity to go to Kohl’s with my mom because I knew I could get away with tossing a few things for myself into her cart. We tended to go before school started because I could find a little bit of everything all in the same trip. I recently had the opportunity to shop Kohl’s new pieces, and all those memories of shopping for the first day of school this time of year as a kid came rushing back!
I was quickly reminded that it really is the perfect one stop shop, especially if looking to add some new trendy pieces at a really affordable price point. From distressed black skinny jeans to a new suede moto jacket, Kohl’s offers a variety of versatile pieces that can easily be dressed up or down. The tote I am carrying is reversible so you can maximize your use regardless of what you may be wearing.
As I discussed on the blog last week, when creating an outfit I typically start with one focal piece and build upon it from there. Here, it was the jacket. I love the texture of this jacket (also available in a deep maroon + black) and find it to be a great layering piece for the cooler weather. While I decided to stick with an all black look underneath, the chocker collar neckline of this blouse sold me so that I could add a bit of dimension to my look.
