ANN TAYLOR CLASSIC DUSTER COAT (AND EVENT RECAP)

I’m working with Ann Taylor to chat a bit about fall fashion and some must-have items for the new season. Today, I’m going to focus on coats. I just got back in from walking Hadley for the night, and for the first time this season there was a nice chill in the air, which means coat whether is fast approaching! I personally spend so much of my day on the go around the city, so a good coat that compliments my outfit is critical. Something about a great coat makes me feel and look confident This camel colored, classic duster coat from Ann Taylor is one of my favorites this season and perfect for fall and early winter (its a really nice weight fabric). While it is a classic silhouette, I love the notched lapel and tie belt that accompanies the shape. You can expect to see a lot more of this jacket in the upcoming months!

The other week, I also had the chance to host the Friends of Ann Event at their Rockefeller store in NYC. While it was still too warm to wear this duster, I opted for this off the shoulder top (which is the most comfortable material) and these cropped pants with leopard heels. I have to confess that I usually get SO nervous to host events (just ask Matt, he has to hear about it the entire day of the event). Of course, when you are responsible to host an event you want to make it a success and enjoyable for everyone, and with that pressure comes some stress! But that night at Ann Taylor, I literally had the best time and walked out of there genuinely excited about the prospect of hosting another event soon. The evening flew by (so much so that I forgot to take pictures!) and I connected with so many new people. I usually ask my friends to stop by when I host an event (and they are the best and always try and pop in – thanks guys!), but this evening I barley had a minute to chat with them because I was getting acquainted with new people and helping to answer styling questions, which is exactly what I always hoped to get from hosting an in store event! Anyways, this is just a long way of saying that it was a great experience and one that I think helped to put me at ease for future events!
