The wedding topic is one that I get e-mails about often. Whether it is questions about my own wedding or how to dress for specific ones, such as black tie, outdoors, etc. Just the other weekend I had my cousin’s wedding back home in PA. It took place on Lauxmont Farms and had one of the most beautiful backdrops of rolling hills, horses and the Susquehanna River. Knowing the setting ahead of time is key (I always recommend checking out the venue’s website) for picking out what to wear. Also if the bride and groom have a wedding website that can also provide a good feel on what to expect and how to dress. I knew my cousin’s wedding would be a more rustic vibe and with temperatures being forecasted for the high 90’s (but feeling like over 100 degrees with humidity) I knew I had to choose something breathable and cool.
Nordstrom is always my first stop for wedding attire. Their selection is huge and caters to a variety of styles. While they have an amazing Wedding Suite section, I always make sure to check out all dress options under every category. The pleated midi slip dress that I ended up wearing is by Topshop and couldn’t have been more perfect for this event. Lightweight, t-straps, a useful lining under the pleats (to help hide the sweat because it was HOT), were all things I was looking for and this dress offered. I love the slight Grecian vibe it gives off which worked well with my braided up-do.
Since the wedding, I have worn this dress out in the city (which is where I took the pictures for this post). While I went with the nude (which to me is more pink-ish) it is also available in silver and on major sale!
