NANTUCKET – PART 1
June 30, 2016

I always get an itch to travel more often once summer rolls around. The city empties out, it gets hot (and stinky) and all I can think about is heading to places with bodies of water and a more relaxing atmosphere. The benefit of Manhattan, is that its situated in a place where there are so many options to escape for a weekend. Newport RI, Boston, Maine, Philadelphia, the Jersey shore and Nantucket are a few of my favorites.

Last weekend a few of my friends and I scored affordable flights to Nantucket so decided to pack a bag and head out of town. Lucky for me it was also my birthday weekend, and I wouldn’t choose any other way to spend it than my favorite island! One of my best girlfriends has a family home on the island, so I have been coming here for girls trips for years. Matt though, hasn’t been since we first started dating almost 9 years ago and was so excited for a couples trip away. We took time re-exploring the island, site seeing and snapping photos in some of the most charming areas. I will list out a few must-see and to-do things below (under the pictures) if you are a first timer or looking for a few extra suggestions!  I’ll be posting my second roundup with more tips next week!

Also, Katie, from Katie’s Bliss, has been hanging out in Nantucket as well and I know she will be having some great posts coming her way. If you haven’t checked out her site yet, make sure you do — such adorable, colorful, summer style!

Nantucket Harbor – Where you arrive if you take the ferry in from Hyannis, MA. The past few trips I have flown and found pretty good flight deals from NYC right into Nantucket. It is by far the quicker option (you are in the air for 37 min) and the way to go if you can find a reasonable flight.

Weekender Bag c/o – I love the separate bottom compartment for your shoes so they don’t get your clothes dirty!

Sconset – we spent the morning driving around and taking in the sites (and allowing me to be a tourist). This area in particular is quieter and extra charming with these floating gates that lead down to the water and homes covered in flowers.

The Summer House Nantucket

The Summer House – a quaint hotel and restaurant. We had dinner here a few years ago on our girl’s trip and ate right by the pool near the beach.

Spent the day hanging out by our friend’s pool. Cooked out, drank a little rosé, and laughed with friends. An ideal birthday in my book!
