Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all enjoyed spending time with loved ones and had a wonderful Christmas (for those who celebrate). This was the first year that I spent the holidays with Matt’s family in upstate New York. Although I of course missed my side of the family, I feel so grateful to now have a second family that I love spending time with and I think its great for Matt and me to start making our own traditions together. I’ll be heading to PA this weekend to see my side of the family for a big holiday party. My cousins always do a big yankee exchange (filled with a lot of gag gifts), and I’m still in need of an idea if any of you came across a good one this year! Some of the more, um memorable, gifts from last year included the go-girl (a device that extends to women the convince of peeing while standing up!) and a a detoxing foot pad (pretty sure these are a total scam).
This fit and flare skirt is the perfect option for a more casual dinner and drinks. As much as I love a good pair of heels, if spending NYE in the city you have to be fully prepared to walk. Cabs are almost impossible to hail and Uber skyrockets their prices to highway robbery level. Once and awhile you will get lucky, but if I can get away with a look that incorporates flats, that is definitely a safe way to go.
