This past weekend, I was in Lake Placid, New York—seriously one of the most beautiful places. I was surprised how much cooler it was upstate (at night it was low 50’s/high 40’s), but I was really excited to break out some of my coziest sweaters. Although it definitely made packing more challenging with trying to squeeze heavier cardigans into a single back bag.
We stayed at the The Whiteface Lodge and it is by far one of the most charming places I have ever stayed. From the fireplaces in your room, to being welcomed home each evening to homemade cookies, to the decor that surrounds the property, it quickly became a favorite place. I’m already itching to go back in the winter! One of my favorite features was that they provided shuttles that took you five minutes down the road to the lodge’s private Canoe Club which included all types of complimentary water activities, volleyball courts, and full bar (and is where our friends held their ceremony).
During the day we did a small hike and checked out “The Blob” on Whiteface mountain. On Friday night we had a welcome dinner/their rehearsal dinner at such a fun outdoor BBQ place called Tail O’ the Pup. The vibe was relaxing, food amazing and they had live music playing. The outfit pictured below is what I wore for this dinner. Saturday we got up bright and early and rented a boat and hit the lake. I tried water skiing for the first time, which was really fun, but SO hard! Finally, we had my friend’s absolutely gorgeous wedding. Definitely a weekend I will not forget anytime soon. Hope you all enjoyed the nice weather and did something memorable as well!
