Call me crazy, but I actually love packing for spring/summer getaways. My go-to items are generally lightweight and compact and you can fit a lot in a smaller bag (so you don’t need to feel so bad about grossly overpacking!) This type of packing came particularly in hand last weekend when Matt pulled up in our rental car, which had no truck and was one of the most compact cars I have ever seen! Four of us, two dogs, and lots of luggage in this clown car led to a car ride filled with lots of laughs about the less than ideal situation. Note to self, next time make sure the car rented has a trunk! I sadly had to leave my bag full or laundry (city living problems) behind.
If you haven’t noticed by now, I can be a bit of a homebody and family gal. Some of my favorite weekends are spent with loved ones and catching up over drinks, delicious food and lots of laughter. This weekend did not disappoint. We enjoyed a cookout at Matt’s brother and sister-in-law’s on Saturday and a beautiful brunch with the whole family on Sunday at their club. If you saw Sunday’s instagram, I originally had packed silk pants and a summer sweater to wear for Mother’s Day, but with the humidity in full force I opted for this light weight, racerback dress and a denim jacket in case it was chilly indoors.
Total side note, but I am going to start to include a “currently craving” item of the day. To start, I have had my eye on this adorable floral swing dress. The price point isn’t outrageous and I am drawn to the colors and movement it creates. I hope you all enjoy your Tuesday!
