As much as I absolutely love living in NYC, at times it is hard to make your apartment feel like a true home. It is something that I have been continually working on, and while we aren’t allowed to paint, I am always looking for ways to bring in some more color. A unique feature about our apartment is that its a triplex (three levels) with a very open floor plan. I love this feature, but unfortunately our bedroom doesn’t have a window so the only light we get upstairs is whatever sneaks up the steps from the windows in our living room. With that being said, it has been a goal of mine to create a gallery wall above my dresser to brighten up the space and add some charm. To bring my vision to life, I teamed up with Lulu & Georgia, one of my favorite interior design shops. Lulu & Georgia is providing a discount code for 20% off their site for the next week (code: snapshots20) – I promise you will be inspired by their beautiful rug, lamps, and so many other home accessories! Living with a guy, I have done my best to style our apartment as gender neutral, although Matt has been a good sport when I decide to invest in some more feminine items; so this little section of wall above my dresser is a balance of a little bit girly mixed with classic prints.
After browsing the LuLu & Georgia site, there were so many prints and dresser accents that caught my eye, and I decided to order them in a variety of sizes so I would have all dimensions on the wall. While waiting on the prints arrival, I ordered a mixture of black and white frames and traced them on tracing paper so I could easily arrange and hang my prints neatly on the wall. You will want to make sure to measure the middle and place a dot on the paper where your nail will go. This way you can effortlessly tape the paper to your wall, add the nail in the correct spot, then pull the tracing paper off the wall and cleanly hang your prints! If you have any questions about this process don’t hesitate to ask!
