As you may have noticed on these pages, I often like to add something that will pop or catch the attention of one’s eye when planning my outfits. A bright lip, fun piece of jewelry, or trendy shoe will usually do the trick. When I received these leopard booties from Sole Society I could not wait to style some outfits that would make these booties shine! The front panel faux leather leggings I choose are comfortable to wear, yet the two-toned dimension adds a slight twist to your everyday legging. When I wear a more fitted pant, I like to pair a looser fitting top, and in this case I also added an over-sized men’s wear coat. Masculine meets feminine, all in one look. I have wanted to dabble into the menswear trend for a while, and with the elevated wedge on the leopard booties paired with a fitted pant, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to try it out.
A little trick: When a new trend comes out that I want to try, it is often tempting to jump in head first and purchase the latest and greatest. What I like to do, is shop around for a more affordable option, such as those generally offered at Forever21 or H&M, find the trendy item I was looking for, buy it, and try it out a few different ways. If I realize this trend is not for me, I haven’t invested a lot of money. But if it is a trend that I end up loving, I may choose to invest a greater amount in a higher-end piece.
