Our Tree Hunting Tradition
December 6, 2019

One of my favorite things about the holidays are traditions, and I’m so excited to keep them alive today, especially with the addition of Logan! Matt and I were just chatting the other night that these memories are truly what Christmas is all about. You don’t remember the gifts you opened when you were little, but all the meaningful and fun things surrounding this season.

One big thing for my family every year was heading to a particular tree farm, a decent drive from our house, but so worth it for the overall experience. I have such fond memories walking around and picking out the best tree, using anything we had to “flag” trees we liked to go back and have a final decision (hat, glove, etc), grabbing a hot dog inside the cozy log cabin, and just getting excited for the holidays. This year, we made the venture back out to this tree farm, and it was our first time bringing Logan! It was so fun picking out a tree together (and made me SO excited for the years to come when Logan is older), and driving it back to the city!

The weather was on the milder side this day, so I layered up in a few of my favorites from Anthropologie. This super soft scarf (I am a sucker and buy a new color each year), a cute pom beanie and cozy little sweater. They always have the best selection over the holidays! If you remember, I snagged this sequin dress (went size XS) and am wearing this longer one (also XS, I’m 5’5) to my father-in-laws retirement party this weekend!

And while we are on the topic of trees, you always need something to decorate them with and to be honest I have found some of our favorite ornaments from Anthropologie (I talked more about this in my Cyber Monday post here). Personally, I love finding an ornament that is personal to someone and adding it to their gift — just adds a nice touch. How cute is this pencil one, you could use for any teacher gift.

Hoping this post helps you get into the holiday spirit and would love to hear any traditions you all have!

My Picks:

A big thanks to Anthropologie for partnering on this post!
