Over 4th of July weekend, Matt and I decided to take a mini road trip upstate (which I talked a little about in this post). His friend from high school recently moved to Burlington, Vermont so we decided to go pay her and her boyfriend a quick visit over the long weekend. Matt’s mom grew up in Burlington, so he had been before, but it was my first time. We were excited to bring Hadley along as it is a very dog friendly town and our friend’s just adopted a puppy as well!
The weather could not have been any more perfect while we were there. We spent as much time outdoors as humanly possible. Thank you all so much for the recommendations, I was able to try out a few places and can’t wait to check out others next time I am back. Our friend’s live on Church Street which couldn’t be a better location, nestled just a few blocks from the heart of the town. We spent the days walking the town and waterfront, checked out the beach near by and grabbed a few drinks and bites at the cutest places. I also can’t forget to mention my new found Creemee addiction, literally the best maple soft serve!
A few of favorite places we checked out include:
- The Spot on the Dock – Perfect spot at the end of a dock (as the name suggests) for grabbing a drink and watching the sunset.
- Foam Brewers – Super cute, laid back atmosphere…make sure to try the watermelon beer!
- Monarch & the Milkweed – Such a yummy spot to grab brunch! A smaller, yet delicious menu where a lot of the items have a surprising twist (Matt had caramel popcorn in his shrimp and grits and said it was amazing). Also, if looking for a cute spot to snag an Instagram this place is it!
