SUMMER ICE CREAM SUNDAE PARTY

A little known fact that you may or may not know about me is that I have an insane sweet tooth! When it comes to desert I am not shy and no matter how full I am after a meal, I will always make some room. With summer in full force and it really heating up in the city, I thought it would be fun to get some of my girlfriends together for a summer ice cream sundae party. What better way to unwind after a busy work day than indulging in your favorite flavor ice-cream (Häagen-Dazs® chocolate peanut butter is my go-to), hanging out with friends and enjoying a beautiful Manhattan sunset on the roof.

I love to entertain and host, even with our limited space in the city. And any chance I have to take something outdoors, I am going to take. Regardless of the size of your space you are working with, I think it is really important to set the mood, create a theme and make the environment feel special. I used a few of my favorite entertaining pieces from Pier 1 and made sure to have some of the cutest ice cream toppings around from Sugarfina (I mean the ice cream cones were too perfect!). Simple touches and fresh flowers can make all the difference to your party.

I wish I could claim this little oasis as my own, but my brother-in-law was so gracious to let me use his building’s roof to host this get together. I think the promise of leaving him with any extra ice cream and toppings is what sealed the deal! Conveniently, there is a Duane Reade on his block and I was able to pick up these ice cream containers on my way over without having to worry about them melting.
