3 Holiday Traditions

With 2018 coming to an end, I know this post is a bit late, but one you can bookmark for next year. I wanted to share 5 holiday traditions that Matt and I enjoy doing, which help let us take a step back and enjoy what this special time is all about. I love hearing about everyone’s own traditions and already have a list of ones I want to start once the babe arrives. If you have any you’d like to share, I would love reading them in the comments below!

  1. Adopting a family or child for Christmas – This is one of our absolute favorites, and my side of the family gets involved as well. We actually decided that the older we get, none of us need anything, so we forego gifts to each other (between my parents, brother and sister-in-law….we still shop for the kids) and instead adopt a bunch of kids and or families for the holiday season. While we don’t always get to shop together (we try to), we love getting together afterwards, listening to Christmas music, eating yummy food and wrapping the gifts. It truly is such a fun time and we love spending time together.
  2. Planning a festive trip or outing – This can be either in the city (we love checking off all the festive places on our list) or venturing to a new spot (this year we went to charming Quebec City), but finding something that really gets us into the spirit of Christmas. I always say that December flies by, so having . few set plans to really explore and enjoy helps things slow down a bit.
  3. Decorating our tree and apartment – Might seem like a no brainer, but Matt and I choose a day or night to go full on Christmas mode. We blast Christmas music, make hot chocolate (extra marshmallows always) and make a date out of decorating our space and tree. I can’t wait to incorporate out kids into this special day and get them just as excited for the holidays as us. The holiday candles are lit and we end the night with takeout and a Christmas movie.

If you are still in the market for a comfy, chic jumpsuit for the rest of winter, I have been living in this velvet one by Ann Taylor. I sized up one for the bump (wearing a 2 and am 5’5). You are also in luck, this little number is on sale AND an additional 60% off! I have been loving velvet pieces lately and Ann Taylor has such a great selection on their site worth checking out (I mean, how cute are these hair bows?!).

I hope you all have a wondering New Years Eve and I will see you in 2019!!
