The Perfect Day Date With Your BFF

Happy Friday, everyone! I am back from Austin and it is finally starting to warm up here in the city, so things are looking up. As you know, I had been in Austin for a few days last weekend with friends (think #couplesretreat). Our initial plan was to escape the cold and check out a new city, but the weather there took an unexpected turn and some days were colder than back home! We made the best of it and on the first full day we arrived it was just one of my best gal-pals, Kristin, and myself waiting for everyone else to fly in later that night. The weather was the warmest this day, so we decided to have a day date and head out and about in Austin.

We started off by grabbing coffee from a local shop near our hotel and then headed to 2nd street to do a little bit of shopping. Kristin is on the petite side so often has difficulty finding pieces that fit without requiring extensive (and expensive) alterations. However one of our favorite spots to check out is LOFT as it is somewhere that we can shop together and find pieces that fit both of our body types. I am 5’5 and find pieces that work with their regular inventory, while Kristin (5’2) shops in the petite section. I’m pretty obsessed with her jumpsuit pictured below and think I need to check it out in the non-petite version! My mom who is 5’9 also loves shopping at LOFT (we always go each time I am home, she loves having me help style her) and always can find pants in their Tall section that hit her ankle perfectly (she actually just picked up these chinos in pink and green last time I was home).

If you aren’t familiar with the variety of sizing LOFT offers, they have CORE, Petite, Tall, Maternity and Plus. Shopping with your gal-pals is much more fun when you know everyone can find something that works at one store. Also, a little secret, while I don’t typically shop in the Petite section, if I want a certain item to fall a bit shorter it is a great option for achieving that without having to pay extra for a tailor!

As we head into the weekend (which is when I tend to do a lot of my shopping), LOFT just added a bunch of new arrivals that are perfect for spring. I have my eye on these tie waist shorts and already ordered this eyelet dress. Let me know what your favorites are!
