3 Steps To Silky-Soft Skin

L'Occitane Shea Skincare

I think we can all agree that the winter wrecks havoc on our skin! I feel like I am in a constant battle with trying to combat the dryness, but also not over doing it. While my skincare routine does shift season to season, I also love discovering a new system that can work year round. You all have heard me talk about my love for L’Occitane on here before, and their hand cream will always be my favorite (I keep one in every room of our apartment and my coat pocket), but just recently I tried out their “3 steps to silky-soft skin” with their Shea Ultra Rich Face Routine and knew I had to share it with you all as well. This skincare routine is can be used morning or night and doesn’t need to be switched up each season. It incorporates three main products, which I chat about each in detail below.

Step 1Shea 3-in-1 Cleansing Water – This stuff is liquid gold! It is a cleanser, makeup-remover and toner all wrapped up into one. While admittedly I am a product junkie and enjoy trying out new things, at night when I am tired and ready to relax that last thing I want to do is have to put all sorts of different lotions and potions on my face just to remove my makeup and cleanse my skin. I have found the easiest way to apply this is by soaking a cotton pad and gently applying all over your face/neck.

Step 2: Shea Cleansing Oil – This step adds an even deeper cleanse, which maybe it is from living in a city, but I feel like I always need to take that extra step to feel fresh. You simply massage the oil onto your face with dry or wet hands and once you add water it will transform the oil into a milky lotion that you rinse off. For awhile I was skeptical about face oils, always thinking that they would only clog my pores, lead to breakouts, etc. For the past six months I have given them a try and have been so happy with the results. They help lock in moisture and add an extra glow to your skin!

Step 3: Light Comforting Cream or Ultra Rich Comforting Cream – Last but not least, my final step is always applying a moisturizer. These two are two of my favorites from L’Occitane and are similar, but different. The Light Comforting Cream has a fine, non-greasy texture and works well with normal skin types. I prefer to apply this lighter lotion during the day. The Ultra Rich Comforting Cream has more of a creamy/melting texture and works best with dry to very dry skin. This is my personal favorite nighttime cream since it is a bit heavier on the skin.
