And just like that…fall turned into winter practically overnight! This past weekend the temps really dropped (I am talking low 30’s) and I wasn’t quite prepared! After bunkering down Friday night wondering how I ever would make it through another winter (okay, I’m being a little dramatic), I decided on Saturday I needed to get out and about and embrace the city.
Matt and I are always up for an adventure on the weekend and decided to bundle up and head down to check out the Union Square Farmer’s Market (for my NYCers or anyone visiting, the holiday pop-up shops down there are not up and running quite yet, although they are in full swing in Bryant Park). We then headed from Union Square down through the West Village and met some friends at the Upright Brew House. This is a small place that offers some nice local beers and wines, not to mention great pretzels with pub cheese!
Prior to the weekend, I picked up a few new pieces from Ann Taylor and knew this parka jacket would be perfect while out and about. The faux-fur lined hood is so soft and warm and truly helps block any wind coming your way. You can ask Matt, I am typically such a baby when it comes to dealing with the cold, but was pleasantly surprised how comfortable I was the entire time we were bopping around on Saturday. These over the knee boots help keep an extra layer of warmth on my legs and were so comfortable for a day of exploring.
Also, I have to share a few other items I picked up from Ann Taylor that I started to style and can’t wait to share. These cropped black pants with a lace hem are so fun and perfect for the holidays! I plan to style with a closed toe pump and chunky knit, possibly for Thanksgiving! If looking for an adorable sweater dress, I love the belted detail on this one. Last but not least, how cute are these embroidered slides?! Incase you missed it, I also styled this color-block sweater over the weekend (check out via Instagram here).
What else I’m loving…
A big thanks to Ann Taylor for partnering on this post!
