I am sure it is no secret by now that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is right around the corner (as in early access begins TOMORROW)! While a sale of this sort can be super exciting, it can also be overwhelming as well. I have broken down the basics below to hopefully help you navigate the sale and come up with a plan that best suits you and your needs.
During the sale I typically splurge on 1 or 2 items and the rest of the pieces I purchase are staples that can be styled and worn numerous ways. This black bodysuit was something I added to my cart last year and have gotten a ton of use out of. I styled it two different ways in hopes of inspiring you all to pick items that are multipurpose!
Breaking down the basics:
What exactly is this sale all about? Each year, Nordstrom holds an annual “Anniversary Sale” (#NSale if scouring social media) that features an incredible selection of items for the upcoming season (fall/winter). It is a great opportunity to score designer favorites at a major discount or stock up on your basics for a fraction of the price. Nordstrom is one of the only retailers that offers a sale this massive before the actual season begins.
When does this sale start? There are two important time-frames to take note of for this sale. If you are a cardholder (Nordstrom credit or debit) you can shop the sale early before the rest of the public! Early access begins tomorrow (July 14) and runs through July 21. On July 22 – August 7 the #NSale opens up to the public for everyone to shop. On August 8th, the sale is over and all prices go back up to their original cost.
Feeling overwhelmed? Let me help! A sale to this extent is always an exciting thing, but can be overwhelming. It is important to go in with a plan, this will save your head from spinning and your wallet from feeling too empty! Here are some tips and tricks.
- Do yourself a favor and plan out your strategy. Take a look through the Anniversary Sale catalog to get a feel of what they are offering and what you may need. Look through your closets and drawers and make a list of items you are hoping to get for fall/winter.
- Sizing 101. Sometimes we are unsure of which way to go on the size chart when ordering online. Now that I am closer to 30, I have to take a second look when ordering something from my favorite, affordable BP section of Nordstrom. Depending on the style and reviews, sometimes I end up ordering two sizes and returning whichever doesn’t work. The great news is Nordstrom offers free shipping and returns, so better to be safe than sorry! With the sale items in such high demand, I always recommend over ordering, taking your time at home to go through everything and then sending back whatever doesn’t work.
- Gifts. I know, I know…it sounds a little crazy, but the holiday’s aren’t too far away. This is the perfect opportunity to start thinking about those you typically shop for around the holidays and possibly checking some of them off your list. You will be less stressed come November and this will also help with budget around the holidays. I always have a few people that are easy to shop for during this sale.
