This past weekend I headed home to PA for my brother’s birthday and the annual Radnor Hunt Horse Race. While everyone is typically decked out to the nines for this particular event, the forecast was not looking like it would be in our favor for sundresses and sleeveless pieces (lots of rain and temperature in the 50’s). The main event of course, is always when the horses race, but the time leading up to this is spent admiring everyone’s outfits, socializing amongst the crowd and popping into the barn to say hi to the horses. Rain or shine, you still have to look put together, and when rain threatens the races, you gear up in your Barbour!
What I love about this brand, is how classic and timeless each piece is and can easily adapt to your individual style and appeal to every generation. My Dad and brother have been wearing Barbour for years and lead a more country casual lifestyle which fits the look perfectly. On a typical day you can find my brother in his riding gear with his jacket tossed on top. For this day in particular they paired their jacket on top of a button-down shirt with a playful bow-tie and jeans, while I took a more city-chic approach. You can take a girl out of the city, but not the city out of a girl! When pairing my jacket with a solid color underneath, I always roll my cuffs so the plaid is exposed giving my overall look some texture and dimension.
Also, make sure you check out their FAQ’s page for proper ways to clean your jacket! This is something you want to make sure you do correctly to maximize the lifespan of your coat.
< Big props to my Mama for snapping these pictures, I know she was super nervous about it 🙂 >
