Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend and had some time to relax and unwind. I have been on the go over the past week for some really fun work and personal activities, so taking things a little easier today and catching up and cleaning up our apartment and getting ready to tackle the week.
I had the chance last week to spend 48 hours in Boston at the Revere Hotel. Marissa, from Style Cusp and I were there together and we couldn’t have asked for better weather to soak in the culture and beauty of Boston. Both of our rooms had a gorgeous view of the city and a nice balcony (which came in handy as we ended up sitting out there for hours catching up while enjoying the view). As you all know, I love any and all outdoor options – even something as simple as a balcony is such a nice treat considering how rare they are in New York.
During my visit, I also had the opportunity to check out some of the food and drink offerings of the hotel and the surrounding area. The Revere Boston is nestled in the Theatre District so naturally one of their bars, the Emerald Lounge, is decorated to feel like you are in parts of the Wizard of Oz. This lounge also has a great outdoor patio area, but when we stopped by it was a bit cooler out this evening so we stayed indoors. My favorite cocktail was the Two Thyme Smash (cucumbers, thyme, club soda, etc.), not too sweet and very refreshing. Oh and the tuna tartare was out of this world!
Thanks to some of your recommendations, one night we headed out to Lolita Cocina & Teuila Bar to grab a few late night Mexican snacks, a famous margarita and oversized cotton candy treat (they give this to you at the end of your meal). This place was so packed, so I recommend getting there early. After a busy day of traveling and indulging in decadent food, I was very much looking forward to a little R&R back at the hotel. One of my favorite features about the hotel room is that the offer a “pillow menu,” meaning you can custom order a pillow for the type of sleeper you are. I am a “side sleeper” so that is the one I ended up going with! Such a fun idea that really allows you to get the best nights sleep possible.
In the morning, I enjoy breakfast in bed (aka Marissa’s bed – It’s always more fun dinning with a friend!). Their homemade granola was my favorite – definitely made sure to go back for round two of that the next morning before heading out.
After breakfast, we spent the day walking around the Boston Public Garden (such a gorgeous park just steps outside the hotel), grabbing coffee and a mid morning snack at Tatte Bakery & Cafe (great spot for an instagram) and exploring Beacon Hill. There is so much charm and character in this neighborhood, I kept joking that I wanted to tuck Beacon Hill into my pocket and take it all back to NYC with me. If you are in the area, make sure you head down to Acorn Street, it is a quiet and quaint alley, perfect to snap a photo and admire all the adorable homes.
Later in the evening, we headed to an evening of yummy cocktails and dinner on the Revere Hotel Rooftop. Their rooftop is huge, filled with cabanas, lounge chairs and swing seats, and an indoor pool. If I lived in Boston, this is definitely where you would find me all summer. We had a chance to sample all the special cocktails, meet some local Boston influencers, and indulge in {yet again} delicious food. The lobster roll was out of this world! We also took in a beautiful sunset where the sky turned all different warm tones — the perfect finale to a wonderful few days.
