If you follow me on instagram (@styledsnapshots) you may have seen that I insinuated that my trip to try and experience the lush, fully blossomed cherry trees at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden may have not gone as planned. The other day Katie, from Katie’s Bliss, invited me to head out Brooklyn to take in all things spring, or so we thought. I picked out this perfect Donna Morgan white dress to wear so the cherry blossoms would pop and be the focal point in my photos. Game plan was made and onward we went.
Upon arrival, we were looking forward to heading straight to cherry blossom row. You know, those gorgeous blooms that have been dominating your social media feeds (this is what I was imagining it would look like). To our surprise, cherry blossom row has come and gone and its mostly twigs on the trees now (see last photo below), other a few trees holding on strong! I knew cherry blossom season is quick, but I had no idea it was that fast! Nevertheless, we made the best of it and, as you can see from these photos, it was still pretty beautiful. I will say that the crowds mid day on a Tuesday were no joke, so I can only imagine what they would be like on a weekend.
All in all, I love the diverse experiences living in the city offers and when things don’t go as expected—which believe me, is bound to happen all the time living in NYC—it usually makes for a good story and a reminder to make the best of every situation. In the end, I still got to get out of the city and check out Brooklyn on such a beautiful spring day!
