My typical look for grabbing dinner out after work or heading to meet up with some friends tends to be what I call “casual chic,” which tends to transition seamlessly from work to play. Here, for example, I kept the same turtleneck dress and chunky knit scarf that I wore to work, but swapped out my flats for a pair of heeled booties and sunglasses. I also love a good top knot, especially with day old hair and dry shampoo. Both these tricks result in tons of texture and volume, and I always can create the best top knot on those days.
Although I’ve been busy this week shopping for everyone else on my list, I also have thought about my own wish-list. Topping that list is definitely the Dior “So Real” Sunglasses. I keep trying to convince Matt that Nordstrom offers free shipping, he can do it online, and he can just bundle it into the rest of his Christmas shopping because they have something for everyone on his list. One stop shopping. Totally convincible right?! While home in PA for Thanksgiving I actually popped into our Nordstrom and tried on the gold/copper black. And it took all my strength to only leave with my mom’s birthday gift (the Ray-ban aviators).
In the spirit of giving, I was very pleased to see that Nordstrom gives back 1% off all gift card sales to local nonprofits. So if you are in a pinch and not knowing what to get someone on your list, a gift card is always a safe bet, plus you will be helping a charity in need at the same time. When giving a gift card, I still try and make it a bit personal. Wrapping it in a pretty box with an ornament that has some meaning behind it is a perfect and easy solution!
SUNGLASSES ON MY LIST
A big thanks to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post!
