I am always looking for an excuse to escape the city during fall weekends and explore the areas that are close by. Back towards the end of August I spent the weekend in Lake Placid for a friend’s wedding and Matt and I fell in love with the adorable town and all the activities. We made a promise that we would head back in the fall when the weather cooled a bit and possibly once more during the winter months for some skiing.
Between hiking, playing in the water and exploring the town, I was on the hunt for one boot that did it all so I didn’t have to pack multiple shoes. Every time I submerged my feet in the water, a few friends who came along on our trip would ask “are your feet wet yet?” and my answer was always no. While we were hiking, the insulation used in constructing the boot continually moved sweat away from my feet, keeping them dry. I had these boots on for a few hours and my feet honestly felt like they were sitting in pillows and kept warm even when the sun began to drop (yes, it actually gets quite cool in Lake Placid in the end of August!)
