For all of you rule breakers and rule followers, Memorial Day had officially passed and there is officially no excuse to keep anything white tucked back in your closet! This white crochet lace dress is a personal favorite of mine, and while I choose to add a vibrant shoe that screams summer, it can also be toned down with a simple pair of sandals for a more casual look.

I wore this dress for dinner at Salinas in Chelsea this past weekend. While on the pricier side (we justified by not going away), it was absolutely to die for. The interior was filled with quite literally hundreds upon hundreds of roses, it was beautiful. The restaurant had a romantic feel with dim lighting, which I really enjoyed, yet did not work in my favor for a quick photo op of the decor! I started with my first ever Rose Sangria (I have only seen white or red), which was so refreshing after a warm day in the city. When we sat for dinner, Matt and I decided on the fried artichokes appetizer followed by the paella for two (make sure you opt for the crispy rice – they leave it in the oven for 10 minutes longer). When walking home, we both confessed that this paella may be better than what we had in Barcelona!  I hope you all enjoyed the holiday weekend — I’ll make sure to blog more about some of the other new places we tried this past weekend in my other posts this week.
